A fine compromise! I guess you could always gradually inch shorter and shorter so that they acclimatise to the idea of you having short hair.
MY BLESSINGS ARE MANY AND DIVERSE and making longer entries helps me deal with my End of Week Amnesia which is becoming worse and worse the more I do night shift. Durr.
